INTERGENERATIONAL HARMONY (A Vindication from Dr. Ian Clarke)
By Byaruhanga John Baptist 01/09/2025
In his Introspective Article of the weekend Vision August 30-31 2025 per attachment, Dr. Ian Clerk vehemently asserts that “Older People have so much institutional knowledge and so much to give that society desperately needs”
I feel vindicated having made several arguments before regarding this matter.
I must just add briefly that the majority of our “constructive-elders” do not have a platform to express themselves and need support towards the same; the absence of which has created general social-political apathy as their disengagement has caused a cascading effect across society.
On the one hand, protecting elders from perspective-theft and respective extortion in this regard would give them further encouragement to give way and guidance. On the other, protecting the younger people from possible predatory elders on account of undue influence would go a long way towards harmonization for common good.
Overall, all young people are better off striving to become constructive elders of the future, because all elders were once youths.
I wish you A Great New Month of September 2025.
